چکیده
We consider non-relativistic electrons in one dimension with infinitely strong repulsive delta function interaction. We calculate the long-time, large-distance asymptotics of field-field correlators in the gas phase. The gas phase at low temperatures is characterized by the ideal gas law. We calculate the exponential decay, the power law corrections and the constant factor of the asymptotics. Our results are valid at any temperature. They simplify at low temperatures, where they are easily recognized as products of free fermionic correlation functions with corrections arising due to the interaction. We measure correlations appropriate for favour-singlet mesons using dynamical quark configurations from UKQCD. Improved methods of evaluating the disconnected quark diagrams are presented. The scalar and pseu-doscalar meson channels are explored, with special reference to the mixing of scalar mesons with scalar glueballs.

We have developed new methods to calculate dispersion curves (analytically in the simpler cases) from which we are able to derive the spatial distribution of electron and current densities. We investigate the case where the magnetic field varies linearly with position and the results provide useful insights into the properties of this and other field distributions. We consider spin as well as a...

We present results for the hybrid meson spectrum produced by gluonic excitations in full QCD using Wilson fermions. For the spin-exotic mesons with J P C = 1 −+ , 0 +− , and 2 +− we find the lightest state to be 1 −+ with a mass of 1.9(2) GeV. Results obtained for orbitally excited mesons are also presented.

Consistent perturbation theory for thermodynamical quantities in strongly type II superconductors in magnetic field at low temperatures is developed. It is complementary to the existing expansion valid at high temperatures. Magnetization and specific heat are calculated to two loop order and compare well with existing Monte Carlo simulations, other theories and experiments. Typeset using REVTEX 1

The advantage of this action is that the Dirac operator remains non-singular when m = 0 so that we can work in the chiral limit. Note that we have an exact chiral symmetry generated by γ5ξ5 which means we will have a massless pion at m = 0 when this symmetry is spontaneously broken. The 4-fermion term is an irrelevant operator, so this theory should have the same continuum limit — continuum QCD...
